“Stay Rad. Don’t be a wimp.”
As far as mottos go, Radical Rick’s signature saying is like the Bat Signal.
Even if we don’t know who raised it and why, seeing it flutter across the night sky gives us goosebumps. Likewise, where we hear or see those six pulse-raising words, we know exactly what they mean.
And we have a pretty good idea of what the best version of us—the rad, brave one waiting patiently for us to get up off the couch—needs to do.
Here’s Damian’s words on how ‘Stay Rad,’ goes right to the heart of a positive, uncompromising lifestyle.
It’s not just about how athletic you are.
“I think ‘stay rad’ boils down to what’s inside the individual, how willing they are to get out of the stands and into the stadium as Teddy Roosevelt would say and be part of the game. Wherever you’re at, it means getting uncomfortable, developing your GRIT genes, doing hard stuff, adapting, and never giving up is what makes you rad. There’s also sacrifice, laying yourself down for others; that’s buried in there too.”
-Damian
On this note, and in honor of ‘Stay rad. Don’t be a wimp,’ we’re proud to recite:
‘Stay Rad’ …the fancy poem
Stay rad, she said, for heroes never rest. They take their cue from one Radical Rick. In life or death, the raddest give their best. Where some say ‘lounging on the couch is best’ we give laziness a roundhouse kick! Stay rad, she said, for heroes never rest. Come trophies, fame, or zilch, the rad ones will confess: Without our chromoly, all our hearts grow sick. In life or death, the raddest give their best.
Fear not when foes put radness to the test. Let them spit, hate, and copy every trick. Stay rad, she said, for heroes never rest. A hero’s radness costs him everything—no less. It’s pain, skin in the game, and a kind of courage that sticks. Stay rad, she said, for heroes never rest. In life or death, the raddest give their best.

Thank you, thank you.
We’ll remember you—after all, it’s the little people—when we claim our Pulitzer. In fact this reminds us, we’ve got even MORE poems extolling the virtues of—
Wait a second…
We interrupt this frippery with a breaking announcement.
Our reporter on the ground is telling us that one Skuzzer Switchblade has a message for the rad community.
‘Stay Rad?’
PHOOEY! I eat radness for my royal breakfast!
Since the dawn of time, my family’s fabled motto hath towered over Radical Rick’s pathetic pontification. Instead of ‘Stay rad’, we Skuzzers say: “Don’t be the runt of the wheeled litter: WIN BIG and SMITE THY ENEMIES!”
Huzzah! Dine on that, Radical Rick fans!
What can we say?
Like a broken Grandfather clock that fell apart decades ago, even a mask wearing, punk rocking, road warring BMX pig can be right twice a day.
While it doesn’t make it right, winning big at any cost does means playing dirty.
We’ll have to tolerate him…as long as he has own evil merch line from Flitebikes.com.

With Skuzzer having said his piece, you be the judge. Between ‘Stay Rad: don’t be a wimp’ and ‘win at any cost’ what motto deserves first place?
In the day to day trenches, what does true radness look like?
We’ve definitely got our thoughts on the matter.
